Dear Parent(s):
Dean of Students
Mr. Adam Dobrick
Grade Deans
9th Grade R. Gopin/Mrs. Levitt
10th Grade R. Kessel
11th Grade R. Danto
12th Grade R. Shulman
Guidance Department
Mrs. Sheffey
Mr. Toporovsky
Because there is limited time available, we respectfully ask that each individual conference should last no longer than five minutes. We also respectfully ask those waiting on line to please be patient and understanding while a teacher is meeting with other parents. Those who require additional conference time or who are unable to make it on the above date may arrange a discussion with any Rebbe or teacher by setting up either a telephone conversation or a personal meeting at another mutually convenient time.
For these conferences, we will once again use our on-line Parent-Teacher Conference Reservation System which enables you to register for conference time slots by computer (over the Internet) from the comfort of your own home or office, in a few short minutes. It is designed to make it easy for you to find your optimal time slots even when scheduling with multiple teachers.
You may begin registration and enter your requested slots any time after Monday March 11th at 9:00 a.m. until Sunday, March 17h at 11:00 p.m. Please note that if you miss your scheduled conference time on the night of Parent-Teacher conferences, you will be able to write your name into any open slots still available on the sign-in sheet posted on the faculty member’s door.
The Reservation System is accessible from our website, www.yuhsb.org. Please also take this opportunity to browse both our website as well as our Parent web on Renweb, where you will always be able to find regularly updated, important information including class assignments, test reviews, Israel and College Guidance material, and notification of school closings due to inclement weather.
Instructions regarding the use of our system will also be available on our website; questions not addressed there can be sent to edtech@yuhsb.org. If you need a list of your son’s teachers, it is available on Renweb’s ParentsWeb, where you will also find your son’s report card under Student Information. If you do not yet have a ParentsWeb account, this would be an excellent time to create one. To do so, please go to the Renweb login button at yuhsb.org, which will be found above the MTA Lions’ logo. Click on the button and you will be redirected to Renweb’s ParentsWeb, where you will find instructions for logging in. You will also need to know our school’s Renweb ID, which is YU-NY. Parents without Internet access should please fax to 212-960-0027 a typed request listing your full name, your fax number and the names of the teachers that you want to meet before 9 am on Thursday, March 14th. We will then assign you the slots that are available and fax you the results. The earlier you submit your request the better chance you have of getting the slots you want.
Finally, while we have also sent this letter via regular mail, we would like to make this the last letter to be sent that way. From this point on, all communications, including Evaluations and Report Cards, will be sent by email. Parents who would like to continue to receiving hard copies of Report Cards through regular mail should communicate that to Barbara Rosenstock in our main school office at 212-960-5337 or brosenstock@yuhsb.org.
We hope that your meetings with the Rebbeim and teachers will be fruitful and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask one of us.
Parking for the conferences will be available in University Lot E (between 182nd and 183rd Streets on Amsterdam Avenue). We look forward to seeing you then.
Sincerely,
Rabbi Michael Taubes Dr. Seth Taylor
Rosh Yeshiva Principal for General Studies
